Victory for municipal broadband in Florida

Last week, Florida passed SB1322 after a tough battle. The bill requires cities providing broadband service to publish an annual report on their project -- not an unreasonable requirement. The Florida legislature passed SB1322 instead of several other bills that banned new projects and imposed onerous conditions on existing projects. SB1322 has passed both houses and is headed to the governor for signature.
