Frankenbill dismembered: HB789 removed yesterday from the SB408 PUC sunset bill
At a desk meeting in the House on Friday, HB789 was been removed from SB408, the PUC sunset bill.
HB 3179 -- the bill taking control of cable franchise agreements away from cities -- is still in the bill. That section has been amended to include more responsibilities for the PUC in order to try to avoid a "point of order" on germaneness. (If an amendment is unrelated to the subject of the bill, the bill can be killed if a member points out this technical problem).
SB408 has not yet been scheduled for a hearing on the House floor.
