Austin Business Journal: Dell Stumps for Wi-Fi

We noted in a previous posting that Michael Dell joined the opposition on a muni network ban. The Austin Business Journal provides further reporting on the issue.

A representative of Round Rock-based Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) says: "Mr. Dell's position is reflective of the company's overarching support of broadband and facilitating the spread of broadband services."

Michael Dell reportedly has made calls to key state legislators, but the company declines to confirm that, saying only that he has been "active" in discussions with lawmakers. The representative says Dell hasn't contributed financially to the cause.
