If city wanted to do this [provide a municipal network], won't they would bring in a private contractor to do the contract? Cities don't make their own equipment, doesn't a private company make the equipment. It's not about whether a private company gets to be involved [with providing high-speed internet service]. It's about whether a particular company with wires going into the home gets to keep another new technology from coming into communities.
