A Lull in the Action
There has not been a whole lot of action this past week. There are two reasons for this. First and foremost, the Texas legislature is occupied with school finance issues. Their attention will return to communication issues shortly, and we'll be ready when they are.
Second, your blogging hosts are all attending the annual SXSW Interactive Conference, discovering what's new in the world of online and interactive technology.
The attendees we talk with are very concerned about the anti-muni bills sweeping the nation. The Texans were talk with are aghast at HB 789. Nearly every Texan I've talked with is aware of the issue, so we are making great progress educating our fellow citizens. The challenge for us is to convert that knowledge (and outrage) to action.
Now would be a great time to respond to our action alert. That way when your legislator returns ready to tackle this issue, your message will be waiting. Continue spreading the word, so more people know about—and act upon—the broadband ban in Texas.
