Tropos Sends a Message to Texas
Tropos Networks, a manufacturer of mesh networking gear suitable for building metro-scale wireless networks, has sent a message to Texas. The message is, "Remove any restrictions on municipally owned networks."
Tropos President and CEO Ronald Sege has sent a letter to House Regulated Industries Chair Rep. Phil King, which will be entered into the official record at tomorrow's public hearing. The letter calls for the anti-muni provisions to be stricken from HB 789.
The letter is accompanied by a fact sheet that explains why Tropos thinks the muni ban is bad policy and bad business. It's a compelling story, one which we expect to hear confirmed by others in the networking industry.
